A Brief History

Living Word for the Deaf began many years ago as “Silent Word Media Resources”. It supplied media resources to those who requested them. Silent Word is still around and continues to fill the same function. In fact, it will be expanded to provide even more resources. It functions now as the resource outlet of Living Word for the Deaf and may be accessed by going to Living Word’s Catalog page

 

What is Living Word doing at the Moment?

• First and foremost, Living Word for the Deaf is working to develop a comprehensive web site which will be an invaluable tool for deaf people.

• We are making contacts with others, so that we can be a reference source to their web sites, so that deaf people also may access devotional material, as just one example.

• Living Word is also in contact with other districts and hopes to work with these districts, as well.

• Living Word is developing a listing of interpreters to make interpreters available to those who need them.

• Living Word has also become a “think tank”, whose sole purpose is to make ministry to the deaf a challenging and exciting one for deaf people.
